Everyday life is beautiful

It’s easy to think of events that occur in your own life on a daily basis as insignificant. I know I’m guilty of such a thing. I mean usually, cameras are pulled out for the glamorous significant moments… not mundane everyday life.

I was just going through my camera roll and found myself feeling more grateful for the mundane moments I just so happened to capture, than the glorious stage moments. The beauty is in the mundane.

I remember being a child and my siblings and I would have our chores to do. All of a sudden spontaneously someone would strike up a beat on pots and pans while washing the dishes, and then someone else starts to make the sound of the broom sweeping the floor synchronize in rhythm with the pots and pans, while someone else gets inspired and starts to sing lyrics and melody that they just made up and somehow it all harmonizes with the baby that happened to be crying at the moment.

This was just a regular everyday mundane moment, but I’d give anything to have a recording of one of these moments from childhood.

The beautiful thing about it is that though I can’t go back, I can go forward with the intention of soaking up the beauty of the mundane. Whether it be with photos, videos, journaling, or voice memos.

One of the things I always tell my students in my songwriting class is that by allowing your ideas to exist in a tangible written or recorded form, you are serving notice to future generations that you once existed, and this song is the proof. Songs will outlive us… and so will photos and journals and recordings.

Let’s not wait for the glorious moments. Just being alive is significant, and there’s a lot to shared just from a regular day in this life.

With Love,

 Victory

There’s nothing worth more than capturing the wonder years of your life. Whether they’re big or small embrace and yes even the mundane moments. Tomorrow is not promised but God is always faithful. Thank You for the reminder.🎁❤️

Don’t despise the days of small beginnings because from small beginnings comes great things is what come to my mind as I stand in this place and space myself as I learn and grow in this new skill of learning the guitar. Frustration, doubt, mixed with moments of realizing I’ve learned something I didn’t know last week and finding a beautiful chord that provokes words inside of me to sing pushes me to pursue and not waiver. I embrace my everyday ordinary moments because they’re full of undocumented moments(on video or camera) with family, friends and activities that add fullness, dimension to who I am so that when I am extremely busy running to fast to slow down, it’s my ordinary mundane days that turn out to not be so Mundane after all!
